Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before you travel to Fairy Meadows.
Where is Oasis Huts?
Oasis Huts is in Fairy Meadows, a high alpine meadow at about 3,300 m in the Diamer district of Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan, directly facing Nanga Parbat (8,126 m).
How do I get to Fairy Meadows?
Travel to Raikot Bridge on the Karakoram Highway, take a local jeep up to Tato village (about 1.5–2 hours), then walk around 3 hours to the meadow. Porters and ponies can carry your bags. See How to Reach Us for the full route.
How long does it take from Islamabad?
By road it is typically 12–15 hours to Raikot Bridge. Alternatively, fly Islamabad to Gilgit (about 1 hour, weather permitting) and drive around 2–3 hours to Raikot Bridge.
When is the best time to visit?
May to October. July and August are the warmest and busiest months; September and October bring clear skies and fewer visitors. From November to April the area is under deep snow and access is difficult.
How cold does it get?
Days in summer are pleasant, but nights at 3,300 m are cold all year round. Bring warm layers, a rain jacket and good walking shoes.
Is there mobile signal at Fairy Meadows?
Signal is limited. Please share your travel plans with us before you set off.
